whenever / whichever 用法差異講解

whichever 主詞 = 東西​
whenever 主詞 = 時間​

There is always a lot of traffic around Civic Square or Taipei Arena; whichever is holding an event.​
主詞是 Civic Square 或 Taipei Arena，是「東西」，所以用 ​ whichever 代表任兩個的其中一個。​

如果要用 whenever，可以把句子改成這樣，就能以時間為主詞：​
Whenever an event is being held, there's always a lot of traffic around Civic Square or Taipei Arena.​
每當有活動舉辦的時候，市民廣場或臺北小巨蛋就會交通壅塞。​

whenever 例句

• ​She always called at the house whenever she was in the area.
• it'll be here, whenever you decide to come for it.

whichever​ 例句

• It will be a difficult operation, whichever method you choose.
• Whichever player scores the highest number of points will be the winner.
